Best Christopher Walken Ever! Take That Johnny Depp

In what I consider to be an over looked masterpiece of American cinema, Nick of Time delivers countless quotable lines from Christopher Walken. Johnny Depp gives a great reserved performance as the father of a little girl being held at gunpoint by Christopher Walken’s henchman. The movie takes place in real time (90 minutes), and Johnny Depp’s character’s name is “Nick,” hergo Nick of Time. Basically, Depp’s character is forced by Walken to assassinate a recently elected governor by a certain time or his daughter will be killed. Its a great simple premise, filled with a good supporting cast, quality direction and lots of good twists.

I love this movie and I just think most people missed it. Its got one of the best actors period in Depp and one of hollywood’s most original character’s in Walken. Depp is the bigger star, but this movie is pure Walken. Almost every line is delivered with Walkenesque weird stop-dead pauses, distinctive speech pattern and deadpan delivery. In the clip below Walken tells Depp a quick story to try to prove that he is serious about killing Depp’s daughter. Enjoy.

…and just for good measure, here’s a part where they are fighting and Walken has this great “Fuck with me, huh?.” Notice Christopher Walken having the great slicked back hair that gets all crazy when he gets all angry and yelling (Al Pacino is good for this type of hair… Michael Douglas too)….
